ABM counts it a privilege to host pastors, ministry workers, and their families at our Annual Ministry Family Retreat. This retreat brings spiritual renewal, encouragement, and connection with other families in ministry throughout rural Alaska and Northern Canada. Arctic Barnabas partners together with Victory Bible Camp who provide the facilities, meals, and afternoon activities such as horseback rides, wall climbs, a glacier tour, and family games. This retreat also includes a teen program, children’s program, individual counseling, a semi-formal banquet for the adults, free full dental care, haircuts and styling.
This year Del Tackett, with the Truth Project, comes to speak for the adult sessions. A group named Melody and Truth from Oregon Salem First Baptist come to lead our worship. Justin Hostetter, formerly Victory Camp staff and currently a youth pastor in Oregon, takes the teen program. Justin Brodie Clark and a team from Hunter First Baptist Church in Tennessee return to lead the children’s program. A team of ladies from Michigan provide nursery care and two women plan to provide haircuts and styling. A dental team, led by Dr. Scott Hodges, provide dental services and dental hygiene.
Our theme this year presents “Behold Our God” with a focus on the awesome glory of God and how we view the circumstances in our life in light God’s character. We desire people to lift their eyes from their circumstances and themselves to fix them on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
