Our Ministries
Shepherd
We provide pastoral care to remote pastors and missionary families. We pursue trusting friendships with life-giving communication and fellowship. God’s Word and prayer are routine platforms in our relationships. We make every effort to visit them on-site in the villages at least once per year. We want to be on their turf, see their battles, bring encouragement, and celebrate their victories.
Equip
No one can survive in remote Alaska without adequate preparation. We provide counsel in all aspects of remote living for existing and soon-coming families. In addition, we facilitate equipping them with snow-machines, 4-wheelers, motor boats, and tools. We’ll even build them a shop to maintain equipment and minister to others in the village. Most importantly, we equip them with resources and learning opportunities for spiritual growth and family health.
Serve
We send volunteer work teams during all seasons to serve these families. It is priority to help make their house a home through function and appeal. Projects include: build and remodel homes, repair equipment, cut and stock wood, clean and store fish or moose and caribou, assist repairs and maintenance of church property, and much more. In addition, we coordinate shopping and send out supplies and groceries as requested. We do everything possible to help relieve the physical burdens of life in remote villages.
Refresh
We specialize in planning retreat opportunities throughout the year, which give these families a break. Parents and children alike need time away to rest, play, and refocus. Our annual Ministry Family Retreat is the hallmark event where families from villages all over the state come together for fun, fellowship, worship, Bible teaching, and mutual encouragement with like-minded friends. We also host regional women's retreats, blessing them with gifts, fellowship, and refreshing meals they don’t have to prepare.
