Matt & Natalie Zeigler

The Ziegler FamilyAs Director of Aviation, Matthew is developing the ABM aviation department.  He schedules and pilots bush flights, oversees aircraft maintenance, safety inspections, and works on Standard Operating Procedures. Natalie cares for their family and home, enjoys many opportunities in hospitality, and womens ministry.

Matthew and Natalie met during high school in their youth group in Naperville, Illinois. Later they both attended Moody Bible Institute and Natalie received her BA in Educational Ministries. After they married and Natalie finished school, they moved to Northeast Tennessee where Matt graduated with a BS in Missionary Aviation Technology from Moody Aviation.  After graduation, the school hired Matt as a flight instructor for three years.

During a visit to Alaska in ‘02, they met with Joel and Gail Caldwell. The Caldwells shared about Arctic Barnabas Ministries and the passion God placed upon their hearts for the missionaries and pastors in remote villages. Matt and Natalie sensed God pulling on their hearts simultaneously. This was exactly the ministry to which they felt God had been calling them.

The Zeiglers arrived on site in January of ’05.  They soon discovered the most exciting part of ministry—encouragement and involvement in the lives of Christian leaders who minister in bush Alaska.  They love to work together with ministry leaders in local churches to encourage a deeper walk of discipleship in Native Alaskans.

Matt and Natalie enjoy sons, Zachariah (January '02), Mason (August '04), and daughter Elliana (November '07). They are expecting their fourth child in June 2010.
