As ABM staff members spend time in minister’s homes, we often become aware of physical needs standing in the way of families being as effective as they could be. Their needs give us the opportunity to call on the body of Christ in local churches to get involved.
ABM uses
volunteers--men and women willing to help maintain homes, equipment,
vehicles, and anything else that is necessary--to keep a ministry
family functioning well in their remote environment. ABM calls on
willing volunteers sometimes at the last "minute” to build or fix or serve in any way that will keep ministry families most effective. When
“MinuteMen” volunteers serve in a village, relationships are built that
extend the ministry family's circle of friends and prayer support. This
serves to increase even more the fellowship and prayer coverage
provided through the efforts of ABM.
Could you be a MinuteMen volunteer? The most important qualification is the desire and willingness to serve those in remote areas of Alaska. Skills and trade experience are appreciated, but not required.
